For those that recall, the last post on the Wrecked WRX was about starting the diminished value process. On inspection, the adjuster and I found a number of things that had to be corrected before they would revalue the car. This included:
a misaligned door card leading to the interior window weatherstrip not sealing against the window,
loose bolts in the rear seat leading to an annoying rattle,
a “burn” (black mark) in the paint on the edge of the front door,
two bare metal spots on the inside leading edge of the rear door,
a hinge that they forgot to paint before installation, and
a problem with the sill not being perfectly straight leading to visible changes in the gap between the side skirt and the sill.
I brought it back to the shop and they agreed to make the final repairs. So, it’s back in the shop for a couple of days and I’m driving a VERSA! I see an opportunity for another Oppo review!

Are the gauges nice? Because I have a 2014 SL and the gauges aren’t so nice.

They strike me as.... strange. I’ll be sure to take pics and render an opinion.

If you have time, you should do the Doug Demuro review of just shoving large things into the back of it to show off how much space it has.
Do the rear seats fold flat? And as an appliance, what would you rate it out of 10? Not only as an appliance though, since I love the shape of it and thought it was adorable when it came out HAHA.

I’m fresh out of babies, so I can’t do that test. I suppose I can do a “will it dog?” segment. If I still had the kayaks, I could have done a “will it outdoors?” test. Maybe I can find time to stick the box on top of it. Wait, it doesn’t have a roof rack.
I may have a very large cardboard box hanging out in the garage. I’ll have to look.

It’s all about the details. I think it has more to do with sloppy work by the techs and the manager having too many jobs to quality check before letting them out the door.

If I recall correctly, the only subcompact that can fold its rear seats completely flat is the Honda Fit.

And this is why I always say if you’re gonna hit me, total the car. I don’t want to deal with half assed repair jobs for somebody else’s fuck up.

You’ve officially surpassed my worst repair experience. My ‘06 Miata was t-boned by a deer, so only a bit of damage on the drivers side (mirror, front fender, door, rear quarter). Small dents and maybe a bit of a blended respray. I had to take it back to them twice to get it right. Overspray all over, things painted that shouldn’t have been (black plastic trim), just an overall hot mess. I asked the manager if he thought it looked well-done and he said it did - clearly he’s in the wrong business.
